Life was not easy for Chandan, the wonder kid
Nayak’s father abandoned the family when he was very young. Chandan is youngest among the four siblings. His mother, Duhita Nayak works as a domestic help at various places. This brave kid has no regrets with his life because he is doing what he loves the most i.e. Play football.
He is a Messi fan
Being from a poor background, Messi is now the greatest footballer in the world. Chandan also feels he can achieve glory without being worried about his financial situation. He loves to wear a Messi jersey every time he plays. “I always love to play in the forward position and love to wear jersey with Messi’s name. I will put all my efforts at Germany to improve my game,” said Chandan.
Nayak’s coach, JB Mohapatra believes in him and has nothing but praise for him. “This boy’s very talented and gifted. We spotted him when he was very young and he’s been training with us for the last three to four years“, said Jaidev Mohapatra.
The state and the local government helped Chandan to quickly sort out the travel documents and Visa. Chandan has proved that poverty is not a hurdle to prove one’s talent. May he excel with flying colors in Munich and make a big name of himself in world football.
