Who doesn’t like shopping? There would be a higher percentage of people who feel happy after buying what they like when compared to people who don’t like buying anything! Here is a story about a shopaholic girl Rebecca who is obsessed with shopping.
Confessions of a Shopaholic
is an American comedy romantic movie released in 2009. The story is based on the novel written by Sophia Kinsella. Sophia Kinsella (a pen name for writer Madeline Wickham) is known for her “Shopaholic” novels.
The story revolves around Rebecca Bloomwood (Isla Fisher) who is a shopping freak. Being a journalist by profession she dreams of joining the Fashion Magazine Alette. On her way to the interview for Alette, she couldn’t resist herself from buying a green scarf and falls into trouble. Her credit cards are declined (She is known for using multiple credit cards to shop) and by the time she purchases the scarf after being helped by a man and goes to the interview, she gets to know that the position is filled.
Soon Rebecca understands that there is a position vacant with the magazine Successful Savings and getting a job there may lead her to Alette. She is interviewed by the Editor of Successful Savings, Luke Brandon (Hugh Dancy). Whether she will be able to get her dream job at Alette or not, well, we should watch the movie.
It’s a funny, ludicrous, feel good movie to laugh one’s heart out. Rebecca embarrasses herself without realizing and can bury herself under mountains of debt because of her shopping addiction, but she emerges from the moments of skirmish as a stronger person and eventually Luke falls in love with her capricious nature. A must watch movie for all the shopaholics out there.
