We have been drooling over her instagram posts. And also tried her simple yet yummy recipes. Then we thought of having a candid chat with her to know her better. Yes, we are talking about none other than Natasha Diddee of ‘The Gutless Foodie‘ fame.
Natasha Diddee is a classically trained chef who nowadays does recipe development and food styling. Her instagram blog @thegutlessfoodie has 31k+ followers and growing every day! The idea of @thegutlessfoodie is to inspire people to eat healthy, to cook more frequently from scratch using fresh produce and most importantly, to stay positive through all phases of life.
Here are some quick titbits about this gleeful lady other than the fact that she doesn’t make future plans simply because she lives in the present!

Can you believe that the name @thegutlessfoodie literally reflects Natasha’s current condition? When asked Natasha said, “I have NO stomach. Four years ago, I lost my entire stomach because I had 2 ulcers and a tumour. They couldn’t save my stomach. I realised that the only way I’d live – not just exist, would be if I relearned to eat. Because you can take away my stomach – NOT my greed. That’s when I decided that I may not have my stomach but I’m still a foodie. That’s why I am @thegutlessfoodie.“
That Chicken Thali Lunch – Done We were leaving for Kochi today so I made this super quick thali for brunch today. Clockwise : 1. That Masala Tuvar/Skinless split pigeon peas I pressure cooked the skinless split pigeon peas in salted water along with asafoetida & grated tomatoes. I tempered ghee with mustard seeds, cumin seeds, curry leaves, green chillies, garlic & onions. I added in some fresh coriander, some kitchen king masala and added this whole tempering to the cooked lentils and simmered. 2. That Atom Bomb Chicken (Recipe to follow) 3. That fresh steamed rice served with a HUGE dollop of ghee 4. Those fresh whole wheat rotis 5. The Gutless Foodie Vs other Blogs
The Gutless Foodie is unique in many ways as compared to other food blogs. The most striking difference is that it is a food blog without an actual ‘blog’. When enquired Natasha said, “I think my microlight gained some popularity because I cook real food that everyone can cook easily. All my recipes are done within 30 minutes. Also, I only encourage positivity on my feed. I don’t feel I need an actual blog. I’m happy with what I have. God has been kind.“
That Long Green Eggplant Masala – in the making . . We're exhausted AFTER our vacation due to delayed flights etc.? But after eating out for two weeks, the last thing we wanted ; was to do take out! So yes, I'm cooking a homey simple dinner for us. The idea was to make a stuffed eggplant dish that @blessywilliam88 shared with me and I've been meaning to try, but man proposes and God disposes? I found myself with very little fresh coriander (and you need a lot for her recipe) So, I changed my mind and went with this. We also love the way she puts up her ingredient pictures against white background which makes her posts strike out. When we probed on this, Natasha laughed out loud and said “Honestly, my entire kitchen is white. So I can’t take credit for that. I work with what I have.”
The Euphoria when Someone Follows the Recipe
While speaking with Natasha, one thing we noticed was that this lady oozes out positive energy and her smile is to die for! We asked her about how does she feel when someone tries her recipe and her face just lit up! A broad smiled Natasha said, “Oh my goodness! It is the highlight of my day!! I’m extremely humbled that people actually not only follow my food journey but also my recipes! I have young newlyweds who tell me how they impressed their spouses by cooking my food, I have seasoned home cooks who try my recipes and tell me how they felt they knew it all but learned something new from my feed and then the coolest kind – bachelors & bachelorettes who feel inspired to cook healthy, despite long days in their offices because of my feed. It’s so overwhelming but so humbling. Truly.“
