Shah Rukh Khan has a very interesting career journey in Bollywood. Khan started his career from television serials and he was a hit on the small screen. Without any acting genes and influences in the industry he has grown and grown into the brightest star of Bollywood. Hailed with the tiles “Baadshah of Bollywood”, “King Khan”, and “The King of Romance” SRK has nailed down every role and script offered to him. Acting in genres from romantic to action thrillers SRK has proved to be the best in B-town! We bet you all will agree!

After nailing many roles on the small screen, SRK was all set to hit the 70mm with a bang! His first debut film Deewana starred alongside Divya Bharti was a success at the box office. This was his career launching film in Bollywood. For his brilliant performance he managed to bag away the Filmfare Best Male Debut Award that year.
This was the first movie that featured the duo Shah Rukh Khan and Kajol. Baazigar was also the film that brought Mr. Khan his first Filmfare Award for Best Actor. The dialogue, “Kabhi kabhi kuch jeetne ke liye kuch harna bhi padta hai, aur haar kar jeetnay wale ko baazigar kehte hain,” had become very popular with the audiences!
Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge
The most popular and biggest box office hit ever is DDLJ. King Khan established his identity as a lover boy ever since his cuteness and panache in DDLJ hit the screens. DDLJ has won 10 Filmfare Awards for the movie. The romantic charm of SRK in the movie still has a mark on every girl hearts.
Dil To Pagal Hai
SRK has given many hits in collaboration with Yash Chopra and the same was seen in the famous musical romance Dil To Pagal Hai. He played as a stage director Rahul, who was caught in a love triangle between Karishma Kapoor and Madhuri Dixit. This movie brought Khan his third lady (Filmfare Award)!
Kuch Kuch Hota Hai
Writer Anjana Motihar Chandra refers this movie as “pot-pourri of romance, comedy, and entertainment.” The love triangle had bagged King Khan consecutive Filmfare for Best Actor after Dil To Pagal Hai. The couple – Kajol and Shah Rukh – always showcases magic on screen!
Mohabbatein And K3G
Both these movies were a turning point in SRK’s career. Co-starred with Mr. Bachchan both these films added more feathers to SRK’s hat. While Mohabbatein brought Khan his second Filmfare Critics Award for Best Actor, Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham became the top grossing Indian film overseas for almost 5 years.
Sanjay Leela bansali has given Hindi cinema many superior period dramas and one amongst those is Devdas. The period romance based on Sharat Chandra Chattopadhyay’s novel featured SRK as a rebellious alcoholic and was a super hit of its times. This film also earned 10 Filmfare’s and other accolades.
Khan acted as a scientist in NASA who patriotically turns to his homeland India to rekindle his roots in the movie Swadesh. It was the first Indian movie to be shot inside NASA. King Khan won the Filmfare Award for Best Actor for this one too and later (2010) it was included in Filmfare’s “Top 80 Iconic Performances”. This was a life changing experience for Shah Rukh.
My Name Is Khan
My Name Is Khan is a film based on a true story based on perceptions of Islam in USA after the 9/11 attacks. Shah Rukh and Kajol amuse the audience with their brilliant performances and Khan wins his eight Filmfare Award for Best Actor. He equaled Dilip Kumar here for winning most awards in this category.
Dear Zindagi was a different role where SRK nailed his performance again recently. Khan played the supporting role of a free-spirited psychologist who helps an aspiring cinematographer (Alia Bhatt) to look at the world with newer perspectives. It was indeed an awesome movie.
