Today Massive fire broke during the event of “Make In India” in Mumbai. The fire was broken below the stage during the program.
Event had presence of many VIPs. Devendra Fadnavis, chief minister of Maharashtra, C Vidyasagar Rao, Governor, were present and were immediately moved of the area after fire broke.
Devendra Fadnavis, was on the spot and he personally monitored the whole operation of fire fighting. Prime Minister Narendra Modi was in constant touch with CM Fadnavis to take log of event.
“14 Fire engines,10 Water Tankers, and all Sr. Fire Officers are on site. Fire now totally under control. Program called off,” Fadnavis tweeted.
“A cutural programme was organized. We suddenly saw fire in the lower portion of the stage. We evacuated all the people. We had created a disaster management programme and everything was done according to it. All the SOPs were followed. There is no injury. Now we will conduct an inquiry to know the cause of the fire,” Fadnavis told reporters after the fire was brought under control.
The disaster management plan put in place ensured the safe passage of the people attending the event–“Maharashtra Rajni”, said Fadnavis.
Uddhav Thackeray, several ministers, celebrities, foreign delegates and lots of people were present to watch the function. There was immediate evacuation of all of them.
Several fire tenders were brought in to control the fire.
According to people who were present, a dance performance was going on and suddenly the stage was on fire. Fire spread rapidly and entire stage was engulfed by fire in few moments.
There are no casualties reported as of now.
