Oscar Nom

This probably is a different year for Oscar Awards, with 14 nominations for the neo-musical ‘La La Land’ and 6 nominations for Afro-American actors moving past the #OscarsSoWhite trend in the last two years. La La Land enjoys the status of having the highest no. of nominations with ‘Titanic’ and ‘All About Eve’. We also have some diverse films like ‘Moonlight’, ‘Fences’ and ‘Hidden Figures’ running the Oscar race this year. Overall, this year is revolutionary for Oscar Awards on many fronts.

Our very own, Dev Patel is one of the nominations for the best supporting role for his movie ‘Lion’.

While everyone was shocked to not see Tom Hanks name in the best actor category and Ms. Adams also was out of the list. Voters even did not give a chance to the box office blockbuster ‘Silence’ and refused to go with the popular movie trend like avoiding Deadpool.

The awards will be presented on 26th Feb 2017 and we cannot wait to see who takes the coveted Oscar Award home this year!
