This is movie which is ugly in real sense. It is a simple movie with dark sides. It depicts how ego makes our life hell.
Shoumik Bose (Ronit Roy) plays a police chief, married to a divorced women Shalini (Tejaswini Kolhapure) with a child Kali (Anishika Shrivastava). Rahul (Rahul Bhat) ex-husband of Shalini is a struggling actor and has legal rights to meet his daughter over weekends.
Being Saturday he meets his daughter and same day he has few important meeting for acting assignments. On this day he asks Kali to stay in car and goes to meet his agent Chaitanya (Vineet Kumar Singh), when he returns he finds that Kali is missing from car.
Further, he goes to police station where inspector Jadhav (Girish Kulkarni) takes complaint casually and asks to find Kali nearby. Later, learning that Kali is step-daughter of Shoumik Bose, takes charge on Rahul and Chaitanya.
This story moves further in search of Kali, where all twist and thrills are placed and makes it uglier with final catch.
Surely this is one of the top movie in Anurag Kashyap bag of best movies, Gangs of Wasseypur was one of the master piece from his bag, post that this is another. Music of this film is simple and just as per need, unlike other thriller Bollywood movies. This movie solely revolves around human behaviors, emotional trends and nature. Rohit Roy is completely in different character this time, showing strong persona. All actors have superbly showcased there acting as it’s known that Anurag gets out highest level of acting from his cast.
This movie doesn’t show much of action pack or hi-fi firing or violence, but yes it shows emotional violence. Suspense of movie is perfectly crafted and kept till end.
If you have like for brilliant movies, then this is it, you will come out with superb yet touching message to take away. This movie is not for people who can’t handle darker side of human nature.
2014 showed really sensible and master piece movies like Highway, Queen and now ending 2014 with Ugly is perfect.
It is really U.G.L.Y — Ugly
