Van Veen bags big!!
It was the most surreal and weird way to express the most exciting news of you getting appointed as the ‘Head of Global Creative Strategy’ at the facebook. Yes, you read that right!
Facebook recently appointed Ricky Van Veen as the Head of Global Creative Strategy (a newly created role) which was announced by the man himself through facebook on his profile through a status where it was a long and a great emotional-inspiring message posted for the readers to know about his departure.
Ricky Van Veen, who is best known as one of the founders of CollegeHumor, the website he began with Josh Abramson back in 1999. Yes, he had a successful website before even Mark Zuckerberg. Van Veen, who is married to “Girls” star Allison Williams, launched the comedy website CollegeHumor, IAC took charge of the website in 2006. Van Veen moved on within IAC to content production hub Notional, which produced TV programming including Food Network’s “Chopped.”
IAC and its chairman Barry Diller has seen quite a turbulent time of content executives this year. In addition to Van Veen, Kerry Trainor stepped down from the CEO post at IAC-owned Vimeo on Monday and Ben Silverman exited the company’s Electus shingle in March to start his own venture. Recode was the first to report the move.
Van Veen in his post on facebook mentioned: ” This essentially means that I’ll be working with all types of creators and organisations to figure out how best to use the biggest network in the world to better connect people with engaging and meaningful content.” Facebook recently has been a little more serious about its media by discussing its factual about saving their money by not hiring the other companies for creating their fun videos instead has made a better decision by tapping Ricky Van Veen in.
We can now expect the force of the facebook to be grown 10 times more with this sharp head association.
