1. His Favorite Playwright
It is none other than, Maharashtra’s pride Pu La Deshpande. Dharmendra says he is amazed at Pu La’s work and the way he delivers some heart wrenching messages wrapped up in soft humorous tones. Dharmendra has always been impressed with Pu La and treats Pu La as an ideal in his life.

2. His All Time Favorite Play
Undoubtedly the Gujarati play ‘Bapu Tame Kamal Kari’. It is a hilarious play and Dharmendra has watched it at least 25 times till now. The play is about a bunch of youngsters, their aspirations and love interests and how everything jumbles up making a hysterical plot leading to laughter bursts in the audience. It was directed by Tarak Mehta ka Oolta Chasma fame Dilip Joshi and he also played the lead role in the play.

3. His Favorite Batata Wada Counter at Theatres
Dharmendra loves the batata wada and chai at the food outlet of Dinanath Mangeshkar Natyagruha. He is always excited when he visits this theatre as he gets a chance to hog on to the yummy batata wada and sip the perfect chai here.

4. A book he would like to see as a Play
The winner for this is ‘Immortals of Meluha’, the trilogy based on Lord Shiva’s life. Dharmendra likes the way the book describes each scene and the way the writer has adapted the story to bring new fervor to the mythological tale.

5. His Favorite Dialogue
His favorite dialogue is from one of the Gujarati plays called Mareez in which he plays the lead role. “Kismat ne haatheli ma hamesha rakho, chehra upar na evirekha rakho, deva ne dilasso koi himmat na kare, dukh daard ma pan nevi pratibha rakho” meaning we should always keep our fate/destiny in our hands. Never let trouble show on our forehead. Nobody can ever dare to give you sympathy. Even in sorrow, make your presence be felt.
