Critic’s Rating: 2.5/5
Cast: Karan Singh Grover, Bipasha Basu, Zakir Hussain
Direction: Bhushan Patel
Run-time: 2 hour 13 minutes
Story: Sanjana (Bipasha Basu) who is madly in love with Kabir (Karan Singh Grover) always wishes to have alone time with him and wants to experience uninterrupted love. She has a rotten past, where she was separated from her twin sister, as they were born deformed and their bodies were attached to each other. This separation lead to the death of her sister Anjana. When Sanjana and Kabir return to her home town, Anjana’s spirit starts to haunt them. Twist in the story comes post exorcism, when the spirit is out of the body but still encountering the house for truth.
Movie Scan: Movie has a good locale and Karan Singh Grover has played natural. There are no dramatic expressions like soap serials. Songs will bind you during the entire movie. As far as acting is concerned both Bipasha and Karan have done a good job. Story line takes a good turn during the climax. But there are many scenes which make the movie lengthy and slow. Overall, you can predict many horror scenes, which is why you won’t be buried in horror like other movies. Overall story line could have been much better. Movies like 1920, The Conjuring etc. glued you for their exorcism scene but this movie winds those scenes pretty soon.
Our special comments: If you have seen all other movies this week then go for Alone. Alone is much better than the earlier horror movies of Bipasha. Bipasha is sensual during the whole movie and Karan has made a good debut in Bollywood and of course charmed us with his chiselled body.
