18 Indian army soldiers were killed at the line of control near the Uri town of Kashmir. Whole nation was angered after India’s eighteen brave heart soldiers had to sacrifice their lives in the attack made by four cowardly terrorists. All the four terrorists were killed in the attack. India has directly blamed the attack on Pakistan.
The terrorists managed to cross the canal long line of control and sneak into the Army base. They started non stop firing and throwing grenades. It is being said that the soldiers were changing camps when the attack took place. Probably 13-14 soldiers died due to fire in their temporary tents. Some sources said that the camp was visible from hill tops across the border and it would not be wrong to say that the terrorists knew the schedule for changing of regiments. Indian Intelligence agencies have claimed Jaish-e-Mohammed, a Pakistan based terror group responsible for this attack in Uri.
This is a second major terrorist attack on India’s security forces after Pathankot Attack. A group of terrorists managed to enter the Air base at Pathankot killing three Indian Air Force personnel. Here’s how the big names reacted to Uri attacks.
Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar tweeted, “The supreme sacrifice of 17 brave Soldiers will not go in vain.”
Home Minister Rajnath Singh also tweeted “Pakistan is a terrorist state and it should be identified and isolated as such.”
Prime Minister Narendra Modi said: “I assure the nation that those behind this despicable attack will not go unpunished.”
After the Pathankot attack, similar powerful messages were delivered from the center but they didn’t back it up with their performance.
January 2016 (just after Pathankot attacks) Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar said: “Without my permission, no one can come, I can guarantee. Those terrorists who came in, they were the last”
Will Narendra Modi government walk the talk this time? Or once again they will play the diplomacy card?
Most of the Pakistani media outlets have blamed India. According to them India themselves has conducted these attacks to simply prove Pakistan as a terrorist nation.
According to a poll conducted by TOI which asked “What should be India’s response to URI attacks?”
66% people agreed on replying Pakistan with a full might, while 25% response was to isolate Pakistan on a global level. One thing is for sure, going to war and killing innocent civilians just does not make sense.
Stylewhack team whole heartedly salutes our Martyrs and all the Soldiers who put their life on the line for the country.
