Men and women are different. Period. Their choices are different, their likes, dislikes and specifically their choices in movies are poles apart. There are very few movies that are equally enjoyed by men and women both. We spoke to a few guys and found out that this list of movies have been like a rite of passage for every guy ever in our generation. At some point or the other, these movies have been a huge chunk of our growing up years.
Here are the movies which almost every guy must have watched and loved at least once in his life.
This Bruce Willis starrer has all the right ingredients of fast paced chases, hostages, guns and cars to make any guy go crazy. In this movie, John McClane, officer of the NYPD, tries to save his wife Holly Gennaro and several others that were taken hostage by German terrorist Hans Gruber during a Christmas party at the Nakatomi Plaza in Los Angeles. The perfect formula for testosterone high.
“I will make him an offer he can’t refuse” is enough to send any guy into nostalgia mode. The aging patriarch of an organized crime dynasty transfers control of his clandestine empire to his reluctant son. The movie which stars Al Pacino and Marlon Brando has been the blue print of many adaptations later on. But nothing beats this classic.
“The first rule of Fight Club is: you do not talk about Fight Club.” While the girls can swoon over how hot Brad Pitt looks, the guys love this movie for its intense action and the protagonist trying to deal with loss, anger and institutional ism. An insomniac office worker, looking for a way to change his life, crosses paths with a devil-may-care soap maker, forming an underground fight club that evolves into something much, much more.
Enter The Dragon
Who does not love Martial Arts? A martial artist agrees to spy on a reclusive crime lord using his invitation to a tournament there as cover. This Bruce Lee classic is an inspiration to almost a generation of guys.
Wars, machines, robots, time travelling, this movie has everything to make a perfect guy watch. A seemingly indestructible humanoid cyborg is sent from 2029 to 1984 to assassinate a waitress, whose unborn son will lead humanity in a war against the machines, while a soldier from that war is sent to protect her at all costs.
Raiders Of The Lost Arc
Everybody loves this sexy archaeologist who goes on wild adventures. Archaeologist and adventurer Indiana Jones is hired by the U.S. government to find the Ark of the Covenant before the Nazis. Harrison Ford looking sexiest as Indiana Jones.
Finally the story of the underdogs, King Leonidas of Sparta and a force of 300 men, fight against the Persians at Thermopylae in 480 B.C. This one has been a must watch for guys all age.
