Nita Ambani, the founder and chairperson of Reliance Foundation was awarded the Rashtriya Khel Protsahan Award on Tuesday for her immense contribution towards the promotion of sports in India. She accepted the award from the Honorary President Ramnath Kovind at the National Sports Ceremony, New Delhi.

Nita Ambani has taken great interest in the field of sports in India and strives hard to promote it throughout the country. She heads the Football Sports Development, and is responsible for promoting the Indian Super League (ISL) or the premier football tournament in India. Nita was spotted with Actor Salman Khan taking a shot at the launch of ‘Young Champs’ earlier. Nita Ambani, is enthusiastic about her involvement in the Indian Premier League (IPL), and motivates her team – The Mumbai Indians. She was nominated as a member of the International Olympics Committee in 2016.
Reliance foundation under her supervision helps spreading sportsmanship spirit amongst the Indian youth. The organization celebrates Sports Day on 29 August in memory of hockey legend, Dhayan Chand (whose birthday lies on this day). This event is celebrated with immense enthusiasm and participation in games and activities organized for the day. This event bring together community youths from around the country to encourage learning and promote rural sports.
