Dear 12th Graders,
Congratulations on your successful achievement and wonderful results. I can understand and feel your happiness, I remember how tough it is when you’re in your ‘INTERMEDIATE’ and how stressed are the days gone by. A hearty well wishes to all those students out there who have achieved what they have desired for. Now is the time for you to brace yourselves up for the future aspirations you all have decided or have set in your heads in respect of your career and life.
Well, I have not written this letter to lecture you at all about this duration of “SEEKING COLLEGE” or to give you any guidelines regarding the various entrances for the varsity of colleges and universities or the ‘Entrance examinations/Competitive examinations’ which you’ll be taking in regards to your chosen careers. I know there are many people who have this ‘Pricky-Business’ to do and mark my words, you don’t really need to give them an ear and stress yourself on the basis of what so ‘Inspirational/Demoralizing’ they are going to say to you. I wish you GOOD LUCK for that.
The part which I have planned on my behalf to take up is about the things which are really needed at this time according to me at which the youth faces the most in today’s time and others are just so ignorant towards it (I mean generally the majority is ignorant towards), I understand it because I have been through this phase and had the dire need of these few tips which could’ve guided me more easily and had helped me to walk on a cake smooth path. Nevertheless, I was myself able to gain the experience and had made up a lovely decision for my career which I am now happy to pursue.
Trust me, none really cares about your future except the dear ones who love you and usher their unconditional faith and blessings upon you. Always remember to build up a respect towards their opinion in the making of your future because that my friend is the real process of planning where you need to understand the realm of having your responsibility towards each person who is linked to you and their choices for you, sometimes what they know about you are those factors which we as a human overlook and don’t keep an eye on.
In any case ‘ignorance has always been a bliss’ for the humans! so, beware!
The checklist one should always have in their heads during this beautiful and innovative phase of life according to me are mentioned here under:
Yes, you read that right. This phase is the most confusing one where there are many options laid in front of you to choose from, that’s where you need to apply “The Hick’s Law”, explore yourself thoroughly and make up a list for yourself that what are your favourite areas of profession for which you need to go, divide your choice on the basis of your hobbies, passion and strong inclusion.
RESEARCH & REFINE
After you’re done exploring, research about each option and the field you’ve listed in your list.
Research should include courses offered under the certain field, exposure of the course, the scope of the course, use of the degree and the organizations where one can seek future prospects, lifestyle and the professional demand in the field. Refine your options on the pointers given and remove the options from your list accordingly.
SELECTING THE SUITABLE COLLEGE
Well, this is the best part of the student phase and the most important one. During this, it is essential to see the best colleges for each course you have selected, remember that it is not essential that a reputed university or college is going to excel in every field. The case can be reversed too! Keep in mind the option of staying in the same state or different state, or country.
KNOW YOUR BUDGET
Not every family has a healthy financial existence, and that is perfectly normal. Thus, in consideration of your choice always keep this essential factor in your head with respect to the fee structure of the college and the return from the benefit of your degree and the security of your future. This too is an investment for the lifetime and the benefit from this has to be done by making the best decision now.
LEARN ABOUT THE LOCALE
Coming from a different state and taking a decision for the further studies in another state is very important. For example, try knowing about the college crowd, the place in general, the landmarks and the budgetary expense of the people living there, the atmosphere and a little geography according to your course, connectivity to your hometown through different modes of transportation.
Last, but not the least!
DON’T MAKE YOUR DREAM OF THE COLLEGE AFTER WATCHING KARAN JOHAR’S MOVIE. REAL LIFE IS NOT HOW IT LOOKS IN THE REEL!
Hope you found this letter of some help, GOOD LUCK!
