A separation is a drama film of a wedded twosome, Nader and Simin. The film is written and directed by Asghar Farhadi. The couple reside in Iran with their daughter named Termeh. Simin is perturbed about her daughter’s future and therefore, wants to leave the country. Nader on the other hand wants her to tend his bedridden and sick father. This forces the couple to dissociate. In the end, the director creates suspense leaving the ball in Termeh court to decide whether she wants to live with her mother or father.

These challenges transmute him from a truthful man to a discerning man. But later his relatives bring him back to the path of honesty.

This film bagged Silver Bear for Best Actor and Asia pacific Screen Award for Best Performance by an Actor.
