1. URI: The Surgical Strike
URI stars Vicky Kaushal who can be called as the actor of the year 2018. He leads the impassioned troops into Pakistan Occupied Kashmir (POK) to hunt down armed militia responsible for the 2016 URI attacks. A tactical military shooter or plain propaganda? Debutant Aditya Dhar’s Uri: The Surgical Strike is poised to kick in some doors.

Kangana Ranaut is all set to fill up the Padmaavat void with this expensive periodic tale which is a ‘bio-epic’ on Rani Laxmibai. This movie is co-directed by Kangana Ranaut and Krish Jagarlamudi. It is produced by Zee Studios and Kamal Jain. Will it slay? Have to wait and see.

3. Super 30
This is one of the first big movies to release in 2019, Super 30 stars Hrithik Roshan. He is portraying the role of a Patna-based mathematics genius Anand Kumar. The movie Super 30 is directed by Vikas Bahl. Super 30 also stars Mrunal Thakur and Pankaj Tripathi. The movie is initially scheduled to release on January 25th.
For those of you who don’t know, Anand Kumar is the founder of Super 30, an educational programme where 30 meritorious students from low-income backgrounds are chosen and trained to get into the prestigious Indian Institute of Technology (IIT).

4. Ek Ladki Ko Dekha Toh Aisa Laga
This one is another one of the much-anticipated movies of the year 2019. The real-life father-daughter duo Anil Kapoor and Sonam Kapoor Ahuja lead Shelly Chopra Dhar’s intriguing relationship drama themed around family, acceptance and same-sex love. The film reunited Anil Kapoor and Juhi Chawla after a long gap of 12 years. It also stars Rajkummar Rao, Regina Cassandra, and Madhumalti Kapoor. Another content driven story, wait and see for the results.

5. Gully Boy
Ranveer Singh and Alia Bhatt starrer Gully Boy which is the story of the underground rapper from Mumbai. The Zoya Akhtar starrer has created so much buzz among the Bollywood movie fanatics with the first posters, trailer, and first track. The movie is slated to release the coming valentine’s day. Wait and see how much buzz the gully boy creates.

This one is a period drama starring Akshay Kumar and Parineeti Chopra. Kesari is one of the most anticipated films of the year. Khiladi Kumar plays Havildar Ishwar Singh, who leads the troop of Sikh soldiers in the British army to battle against the Pashtun Orazkai tribesmen. Parineeti Chopra plays his love interest in the film and she even shared her look from the film. The movie is directed by Anurag Singh.

Kalank, set in the backdrop of 1940s is an epic drama. It has a stellar star cast. The film features Madhuri Dixit, Sonakshi Sinha, Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan, Aditya Roy Kapur, and Sanjay Dutt. Kalank is directed by Abhishek Varman, it has been making noise ever since its announcement. Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt have been sharing updates from the sets of the film and it has made it difficult for us to wait for it. Earlier Sridevi was to star in the film but it was posted her untimely demise Madhuri Dixit roped in.

8. Student Of The Year 2
This film as we all might be aware of is a sequel to Dharma Productions 2012 release Student of the year which starred Alia Bhatt, Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in the lead roles. Interestingly, SOTY 2 will also feature Aditya Seal in a pivotal role, while Will Smith too makes a special appearance. With the immense buzz around it, we just can’t wait for the film.

Bharat is anticipated as one of the biggest films of the year. Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat stars Salman Khan and Katrina Kaif in the lead roles. Also featuring in the film are Disha Patani, Sunil Grover, Jackie Shroff and Nora Fatehi in various interesting roles. Bharat is an official remake of a Korean film, Ode To My Father.

10. Kabir Singh
Kabir Singh starring Shahid Kapoor is the remake of a Telugu film, Arjun Reddy. The film stars Kiara Advani as the female lead and is said to be a romantic drama. Shahid’s character gets into a self-destruction mode after his girlfriend marries another man. Kabir Singh will be in the cinemas on June 21st. Let us have to wait and see to know whether this Hindi remake will be as huge and successful as the Telugu one.

11. Mission Mangal
It is considered as another one of the biggest releases of the year. Mission Mangal comes with a stellar star cast that includes Akshay Kumar, Vidya Balan, Taapsee Pannu, Sharman Joshi, Sonakshi Sinha, Kriti Kulhari and Nithya Menon. Jointly produced by Fox Star Studios and Cape Of Good Films, Mission Mangal is going to be India’s first space film. A proud story of India’s Mars mission. Wait to witness India’s prestigious mars mission on the silver screen.

Another huge production, Mahabharat is a Bollywood adaptation of the Indian epic of Mahabharata. As of now, Aamir Khan seems to be the only confirmed star in the film. It is set to release some time in November 2019.

Tanaji is said to be Ajay Devgn’s dream project. The movie features Ajay as Tanaji Malusare. Directed by Om Raut, the film is based on the life of Malusare, who served as one of Shivaji’s generals in the seventeenth century. Film’s first look posters have already been making a lot of noise and we can’t wait to see Ajay in this avatar.

Ranbir Kapoor after the commercial success last year plays the lead in Ayan Mukerji’s massive action-fantasy epic which also has got some superhero elements. In fact this movie is the first of a planned trilogy, Brahmastra co-stars Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna, Dimple Kapadia, and Mouni Roy. The film, shot in Bulgaria, London, New York, and Mumbai, boasts a production budget of Rs 250 crore.

15. Operation Khukri
It stars Shah Rukh Khan, Rajkummar Rao, Jackie Shroff, and Ayushmann Khurrana, Operation Khukri is about the UN peacekeeping mission involving Indian soldiers in Sierra Leone.
